Anthracnose is a group of fungal diseases that cause dark sunken lesions on leaves, flowers, and fruits. This disease is a major issue for the mango industry and has been associated with yield losses up to 60% in different countries. ARS researchers in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, are working closely with the mango industry to develop new lines of mangoes that are resistant to anthracnose disease.
